Robin Corder Named Idaho School Psychologist of the Year

, Primary Category: Press Releases

NEW YORK, January 8, 2020 – The Idaho School Psychologist Association (ISPA) named Robin Corder as the 2020 School Psychologist of the Year at their annual membership meeting. Corder was nominated by Jill Daniels, director of special education for Oneida School District, and chosen by a selection committee of practicing school psychologists in Idaho.

In her nomination, Daniels described Robin as someone who “works tirelessly to complete assessments throughout the state of Idaho, is reliable with her information and is able to explain it in a way that is insightful and understandable to all members of the team.”

Corder is currently a clinical account manager with PresenceLearning, the leading provider of live online special education related services for K-12 schools. She has extensive experience serving individuals with disabilities, from preschool to transition-aged children. Corder has served as an online provider with the PresenceLearning network and as an in-person provider in both the Grace and Oneida school districts. She has also worked with students throughout the state of Idaho with the online Idaho Home Learning Academy (IHLA).

“Everyone at PresenceLearning was excited to learn that Robin was honored as School Psychologist of the Year in Idaho,” said Stephanie Taylor, EdS, NCSP, clinical director of psychoeducational services at PresenceLearning. “Robin goes above and beyond in supporting her students as well as her colleagues, especially this year. School teams are navigating the sudden transition to remote learning and supporting students with special needs, and they need support. Robin’s deep experience in a school setting and as a remote provider put her in an ideal position to serve as a true support for school teams and psychologists–and she embraced that role fully. With COVID-19 and the growing mental health crisis among our nation’s young people, online services are well-suited for providing students with the care they need in a comfortable, accessible format. We are so grateful to have Robin on our team.”

ISPA is a non-profit professional organization whose mission is to help children and youth succeed academically, emotionally, and behaviorally through collaboration, advocacy and professional development. The School Psychologist of the Year is awarded to identify and recognize an outstanding school psychologist who has made noteworthy contributions to the profession of school psychology and to promote public awareness of the profession. ISPA is also a member of the National Association for School Psychologists

Corder was presented with the award at the November School Board meeting in Malad City. To learn more about Corder’s experience as a school psychologist and the role teletherapy plays in her services, email margaret@kehcomm.com.
