Clinical Practice Director, Behavioral Health

Job Description

The Clinical Practice Director, Behavioral Health will provide direct oversight to PresenceLearning’s overall Behavioral Health practice. The director will be responsible for BH practice standards across all of PresenceLearning’s industry segments including education, private pay, and health care. As direct manager of BH Senior Clinical Consultants, the director will be accountable for delivering PL services to 60+ education clients (account ownership), while taking a significant role in growing our health care practice. All PresenceLearning behavioral health clinicians and leads will have a solid line into this leader, and a dotted line to the owner(s) of their customer account(s). From our beginnings serving special needs students in public schools, PresenceLearning has evolved into a national telehealth marketplace serving a diverse array of patients in a variety of education and healthcare settings. We are looking for a talented clinical leader who can help us rapidly expand our network of behavioral health professionals, delivering exceptional clinical outcomes for our patients. The Clinical Practice Director, Behavioral Health is an experienced clinician who can skillfully navigate clinical, regulatory and reimbursement/contract challenges in a high-growth environment to build a thriving national tele-behavioral health practice. The Director will adapt our existing systems for recruiting providers and monitoring clinical quality to the requirements of Medicaid, Commercial Insurers, Self-Insured Employers and Medicare.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for maintaining, communicating and improving BH practice guidelines for all BH services provided by PL in education, private pay and health care settings
  • Responsible for managing and mentoring all senior clinical consultants (SCCs) within the Behavioral Health clinical discipline
  • Responsible for planning for and balancing account assignments for BH SCCs according to workload, regional alignment, and services mix
  • Responsible for maintaining staffing plans for BH Lead Clinicians and working with the Revenue team to forecast recruiting demand for BH clinicians; ensure appropriate participation from SCCs and Leads in clinician recruiting activities
  • Adapt provider recruiting systems to ensure that we build a robust pipeline of excellent behavioral health providers
  • Accountable for hiring (working through Revenue / recruiting team) / firing decisions for clinicians within BH clinical discipline
  • Accountable for developing relevant BH clinical quality reporting requirements for health care clients, working with the Health Care Compliance team
  • Work directly with the Revenue team to assist with clinical value proposition to key strategic accounts in pipeline (across health care, education markets)
  • Represent PresenceLearning to external agencies, conferences and professional boards as part of clinical leadership team as needed to establish and evolve telepractice standards

Qualifications

  • Enthusiasm for telehealth
  • Masters Degree or PhD in Psychology, with extensive clinical experience
  • 10+ years of experience successfully managing behavioral health providers (MFTs, LCSWs, School Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Counselors), preferably while working at an ambitious, innovative organization
  • Multiple (10+) state licenses a plus
  • 2+ years of special education experience in public school system a plus
  • 2+ years delivering clinical services in a health care setting
  • Experience interacting with public and private health care payers a strong plus
  • Supervisory, mentoring and/or management experience required
  • Experience participating in IEP meetings
  • Previous telepractice experience a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent communication abilities
  • Ability to manage several projects efficiently
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic and tactical priorities required
  • Process improvement experience a plus
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills required; demonstrated ability to manage using metrics a strong plus.
  • Ability to build a customer-focused and quality-focused organization a strong plus

Location

PresenceLearning is based in San Francisco, CA, with clients and remote staff located throughout the U.S. The role may include travel (2x per month on average).
